What to expect
It is normal to feel apprehensive about starting therapy. You might have thoughts such as:
''What do I say in the intake session?'' ''How do I think about goals?'' ''What form of treatment is best for me?''
That is exactly why I am here - to help guide that process of understanding and discovery in a paced and caring way.
Types of services
Online Therapy
Online therapy is proven to have the same results as face to face therapy. Therapy online allows you to fit therapy around your own schedule and for you to connect with me from the comfort of your own home. All therapy I offer can be received online.
Face to face therapy
Face to face therapy is the traditional way of receiving psychological treatment. Allows for you to connect with myself face to face in a supporting environment. This can be offered in Amsterdam in a couple of locations.
Intake &
further sessions
How does it work?
All new clients will be asked to first have an intake to see whether working together will be a good fit.
An intake assessment is a structured session which looks at demographic information, main presenting difficulties, mental health history, family health and substance use. Goals will also be formulated during this session.

If we agree that we can work together then we will work towards your goals in a number of sessions, making sure to review progress along the way.

How long are the sessions?
Sessions are 45 minutes in length.
The intake session can be up to an hour depending on difficulties discussed.

Missed a session or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice?
Sessions that are missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, will be charged in full.

Costs & Insurance
Cost
Session rates vary.
Please get in contact if you have questions about payment.
Full late cancellation fees apply (less than 24 hours notice).
Full no-show fees apply.
Insurance
I do not currently work with healthcare insurance companies. It is up to you to make contact with your own insurance to see whether therapy can be partially or fully reimbursed. This is normal for private psychologists in The Netherlands.
Waitlist
Intake - Currently a 8-12 week wait from enquiry to first face to face session.
Online - Due to scheduling, I do a large amount of online work. This always has more availability.

Unfortunately at the moment in The Netherlands, there are huge waitlists for treatment that is fully covered by insurance. This means that some people are waiting up to a year for treatment. Private therapy with no waitlist can be a very effective alternative.
